Tina Fey – Bossy Pants
Can you judge a book by its cover? If so this memoir would be pretty disturbing. Don’t worry, it’s lighthearted and witty (sort of) anecdotes from the 30 Rock star. The first 100 pages or so are nothing to write home about, or even write about full stop. Either this comedian is holding back or she had a pretty straightforward and loving upbringing that still managed to render her insecure. It’s when she starts her career as a young writer for Saturday Night Live that the book gains some page-turning momentum. This is the perfect airplane novel. There’s nothing heavy-going or poignant about it.
